She hasn’t been DJing for long, but DJ/Producer LilRockit is already a well-known figure on the UK dance scene. And for good reason… This is one newcomer that you should follow!
Known for her confidence and energy behind the decks, Lilly has won support from the likes of Kryder, Tom Staar, Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, Third Party, Gareth Emery, Chocolate Puma and many more. She has brought her distinctive sound and unique energy to Creamfields, Victoria Warehouse, Cream at Nation, the o2 Indigo, Ibiza’s Amnesia, Ocean Beach and countless other top rated venues.
Perhaps it has something to do with her deep-seated and lifelong passion for music. Growing up, Lilly immersed herself in the sounds of Motown, from Sam Cooke and the Supremes, to the Temptations and Michael Jackson. “As long as it had a good groove!”
Her desire to enter the world of electronic dance music professionally occurred after her younger sister was diagnosed with a brain tumour. With her sisters drive to continue living life to the max, Lilly went on a whim to see a DJ she followed, and the experience convinced her that DJing would be the best way for her to express herself and to begin a new chapter in her life.
Under the tutelage of her friend and fellow producer Kryder, Lilly learned the art of working the decks, and soon discovered her own unique sound. She began dabbling in production soon after, beginning with an original track named ‘You What’. She is now working on several other original productions that nod their heads to some of her current influences.
While she’s still growing as an artist, Lilly’s confidence in her onstage persona is as sure as anything. “Every time I DJ, my goal is to make memories, since a lot of memories are triggered by music,” she says. “I love to see people happy, so I play unique tracks I hope that in the future will make them remember a time that they were extremely happy.”
